For everyone who has been wondering and missing Kate — we received an update recently.
“Hi everyone! Kate here, reporting from sunny (but freezing!) Lyon, France where I am working as an English Language Assistant in a public high school for the next year.
I’ve been in Lyon now for just over three weeks and settling in nicely. I’ve signed my very first lease for an apartment that I will be sharing with one of my friend’s who is also from Vancouver. I’ve opened a bank account so that I can get paid – very important. I’ve just finished week 2 of teaching and it has definitely been an experience…I have students ranging from 14 to 21 years old, from really eager learners to those who stare out the window and roll their eyes at me…overall, I love it!
Before coming to Lyon, I had the opportunity to spend time in Glasgow, London and Paris to be a tourist before moving to Lyon. We have school vacations starting in a week and I think I’ll be spending a week touring Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. Lots to look forward to in the coming weeks and over the course of the school year!
